History of Bizhop Luggage

On the About Us page you can read about how I came up with the original idea and how we started with a wooden prototype so here are a succession of photographs showing how the ideas & designs evolved through a series of three wooden prototypes followed by four plastic (3D Printed) prototypes:

As you can tell, the original design had a vertical hinge resulting in a horizontal hanger, much like the back of a chair, however this is not a satisfactory solution for hanging a jacket so we evolved the design into an angled hinge as this is what achieves the hanger shape very effectively. After proving this concept in the wooden prototype and finalising the angle of the hinge we then moved on to develop a 3D model using CAD software which can be used to print a plastic prototype on a 3D Printer.

We had hoped that the design was sufficiently complete that just a single plastic prototype would be enough and we’d be starting mass production immediately, but in fact we have iterated and continuously improved the design through a total of four plastic prototypes before deciding that it is good enough to call it “the finished article”.
